Cargill has been operating in Honduras since 1969. We have approximately 2,500 employees in six locations: San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, La Ceiba, Santa Cruz de Yojoa, Siguatepeque, and Villanueva.Cargill has activities in the following areas in Honduras:
• Animal feed production and sales
• Animal feed consulting service
• Chicken live production, processing, and commercialization
• Processed Meat processing and commercialization
Today, Cargill is the market leader; and, has the leading brands in three areas: Chicken (Pollo Norteño); Further processed meats – Delicia and San Miguel; Animal Feeds – Alcon and Cargill; Petfood – Dogui and Gati.• Animal feed consulting service

Cargill Investments in Honduras
• 1969 – Cargill acquires majority ownership in Alimentos Concentrados Nacionales, a local Animal Feed Business
• 1975 – Cargill diversifies its feed business into chicken live production, processing, and commercialization (Pronorsa)
• 1979 – Cargill acquired Pollo Rico, a chicken company in San Pedro Sula
• 1986 – Cargill acquired Embutidos Delicia, a local branded Processed Meat business
• 2005 – Cargill acquired Mike’s, a local branded Processed Meat business

Activities and Awards
We work with a Corporate Social Responsibility strategy that each year includes dialog, consulting communication and action plans that relate to our stakeholders: Employees, Customers, Suppliers, and Communities.
Cargill participates with Habitat for Humanity and has received several recognitions from this Non-Government Organization (NGO).
We have a very active Corporate Volunteer Program that matches the needs and interests of the community, our employees and the business. During Fiscal Years 06 and 07, 70 percent of our employees were directly involved in Community Programs benefiting local public schools and health centers in all the communities where Cargill operates.
Cargill in Honduras is a five-time recipient of a Cargill Cares Volunteer Award.
• 2007 – Cargill is presented with the Seal for Corporate Responsibility by the Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility, FUNDAHRSE.
• 2006 – Cargill is presented with the National Award for Sustainability in the category for Large Businesses by the Honduran Foundation for Corporate Social Responsibility, FUNDAHRSE, and the National Center for Cleaner Production, CNP+L.
• 2005 – Cargill is presented with the National Award for Corporate Social Responsibility ‘La Concordia’ by the Honduran Council for Private Enterprise, COHEP.
